Numbers. Scary numbers.
A) the Dow Jones dropped 778 points today. It was the worst single day point loss ever. It was worse than the day after Sept. 11, 2001. I don't really know much about this whole financial crisis, but that sounds bad. They say money makes the world go 'round. What happens when there's a money crisis? Does the world stop?
2) Perhaps an even more frightening number: 2. That's The University of Alabama's Associated Press Top 25 football rank. What the devil? I had physics class with Alabama's starting quarterback. That fact does nothing to change the intensity with which I dislike Alabama. I guess I'll look on the bright side. The higher they climb, the more upsetting it will be when we beat them.

The world will not end. We, the people, must unite in a common cause for accountability in human rights, ecology and fiscal responsibility. Socialist countries and religious monarchies alike can and should respect human rights. We cannot expect all sovereign nations to be like the USA. We can, however, as a nation set an example for the rest of the planet to strive to live by. The UN has done a horrid job of actually uniting the planet. Scrap the UN and its' delegates. As the world becomes smaller (due to instant communications and quick travel) no deeds go unnoticed. Initiate a leageu of soveriens. (LOS) and each country's leader becomes a delegate. Eliminate political posturing and prioritize the issues facing our PLANET. Initiate a world wide disaster descretionary fund to deal with natures' storms. Give each nation one vote. Eliminate the security council. Move the LOS to Geneva. Set up video conferencing during emergencies. Continuosly vote on issues and initiatives. This would force even non democracies to conform to majority rule. God gave us this planet. it is up to us to preserve and improve it!!
